Why You Need a Chiropractor

Chiropractic is a natural form of health care that uses spinal adjustments, to correct misalignments or fixations (vertebral subluxations) in the spine in order to restore proper function to the nervous system, helping your body to heal naturally as you are meant to. Chiropractic does not use drugs or surgery.

A chiropractor performs a physical, neurological, and orthopedic examination as part of his or her process of making an accurate diagnosis for their patient's condition. The Doctor of Chiropractic provides care for many different spinal disorders that may or may not cause musculoskeletal or nerve pain. The chiropractor is most interested in the spinal conditions that show signs of nervous system interference. Not only has it has been shown that spinal subluxations cause pain and/or stiffness in that region of the spine, it has also been proven that vertebral subluxation is the direct culprit of many nervous system conditions that later produce problems in the end organ tissues.

As mentioned above, not all spinal dysfunction presents with pain or noticeable symptoms. So just like changing the oil in your car as a preventative maintenance measure, you must have a chiropractor perform an assessment on your spine in order to locate any dysfunction that may be present, regularly. Any areas in your spine that may not be moving properly, could be causing damage to your body that you may not be aware of.
